Alameda County Water District

Education Programs

The highest priority of the Alameda County Water District has always been to preserve and protect our area's water resources for current and future generations. ACWD's School Education Program was developed with that goal in mind. It provides local school classrooms with educational resources that stress the various facets of water science and water management with the objective of producing citizens capable of making informed decisions regarding state and local water resources. Today, the Education Program reaches more than 25,000 students annually throughout the Tri-City area.

Through the Education Program, ACWD supplies educational programs and materials to educators teaching grades K through 12 in Fremont, Newark and Union City. These resources are free of charge and are available on a first-come, first served-basis. Additional information can be obtained by contacting our Public Education Specialist.
