This diversion screen, recommended as part of an overall Alameda Creek Steelhead Restoration Program, will eliminate the potential for entrainment of out-migrating juvenile steelhead at the intake location, and is supported by the stakeholder-based Alameda Creek Fisheries Workgroup.
The project is currently in the testing phase and is scheduled to be operational by December, 2009. During construction, the trail adjacent to site will be closed. For additional information see http://www.ebparks.org/closure.
The Department of Water Resources awarded $600,000 to the District as financial support for this project.
