Welcome to our Drought Tolerant Demonstration Garden. We hope that this guide will help you to choose water conserving plants for your own landscape. This garden was designed by Nancy Hardesty ASLA, of Hardesty Benoit Associates when the headquarters building was constructed. After the drought, the District decided to extend the garden across the frontage of the building, and Ms. Hardesty was called upon to expand her original plan. John Blevens of Irrigation System Consultants designed the irrigation system, using as many different methods as possible in order to demonstrate the various kinds of irrigation equipment available.
