Water Conservation

Blue painting reads Every Drop Counts

In response to the Alameda County’s Public Health Officer order for shelter in place and Governor Newsom’s Executive Order N-33-20 that all Californians stay at home order, as well as for the protection of the public, visitors and staff from COVID-19, we have closed our ACWD Headquarters in Fremont to the public effective March 17, 2020, until further notice. Water service will not be interrupted.

ACWD’s conservation team has taken steps to assure that ACWD water conservation services for our customers continue relatively uninterrupted, while also safeguarding the health of our employees and customers.

ACWD has implemented the following changes to its normal water conservation assistance operations. We are putting a hold on the following services: In person meetings in the office or offsite, in person Water Use Efficiency surveys for business, including those through the Green Business Certification program (although these can be done virtually), in person Landscape Surveys, and all other site visits that are required to confirm eligibility to participate in a program. We are also postponing any planned workshops or events for the foreseeable future.

Many of our water conservation services, such as rebate programs, remain available to our customers, although processing times for applications may be delayed by 1-2 weeks. Water Conservation program applications should be emailed to the Water Conservation email.

Staff is available to discuss your water conservation needs over the phone. Customers can call any time, 24/7, and leave a message. Calls will be returned within 24-48 hours by conservation staff during regular business hours: 8:00-5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. When you call, please make sure your message includes your name, return phone number, and a short summary of your inquiry.

Be safe and thank you for your interest in saving water!
