Visit ACWD's Water Treatment Plant

Go behind the scenes for a guided tour of ACWD's Water Treatment Plant No. 2 in full operation. Water Treatment Plant No. 2 (WTP2) was placed in service in 1993. It is a conventional ozone plant used to treat water delivered via the South Bay Aqueduct and located on Mission Boulevard near the I-680 interchange in Fremont.

Tours for Schools and Community Organizations

Tours of our water treatment plant are available to community and school groups (elementary school grade 4 and older) located within our service area of Fremont, Newark and Union City.  Tours are available Tuesday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. It is required to fill out the Tour Request Form and submit at least 2 weeks before preferred date. An e-mail will be sent to confirm tour date.

After your tour date/time is scheduled, every tour participant is required to submit a Visitor Form 1 week before the tour date:

Virtual Tour
